Meeting Jan Hice, author of Soul Work
I recently attended my second meeting of the American Business Women's Association (ABAW), Homestead Chapter. Photographer and writer Ms. Jan Hice was the guest speaker.
Jan is an artist who inspires other to live their life's dream. She spoke about her challenges and the people who have helped her on her journey. She spoke about writing her book and how it was inspired.
Jan spoke about how some people live to work for others, while some actually learn what feeds their soul. Her speech also concentrated on how the book was published. She spoke about how she has become a photographer and writer full time. I wish her continued success!!!
Jan is someone who came into my life to give a small push into continuing my dreams. She has experienced some of the same challenges as I do, while both of us are extremely grateful for what we have. A small step and push to keep challenging myself to live my "soul work."
Jan's beautiful book, Soul Work, was displayed and part of the presentation. Jan is the one on the left. The two on the right are ABAW Homestead Chapter members enjoying Jan's selected items. For more of her photographs, please visit Heart's Joy Photography.

A-M: Thank you for leading me to Jan's site. It is wonderful. I will have to check out her book.
This one quote stuck with me... "Jan spoke about how some people live to work for others, while some actually learn what feeds their soul."
This is so true... I work for others because I must at this point in my life. Photography is what feeds my soul (and my family of course). What I photograph is my choice and how I choose to render the image is truly up to me. Thanks for the post... I needed a reminder.
