As a reward for finishing my oceanography midterm, I stumbled upon another art exhibit by Jason Aponte entitled Go Figure at the Miami Dade College Homestead Gallery. The exhibit opening was March 10, 2011.
Because the art is displayed at an educational institution, the art was tamer than that exhibited at the Children's Gallery in October, 2010. The more traditional portraiture in this exhibit by Aponte is still as meaningful as the Reflections series he exhibited in the past.
The portraits in this hallway are of moments made significant by their simplicity: Danielle contemplating a flower; The Menu contemplating a shared meal; Banjo a musician, like a side note of an event. Although the exhibit is in a hallway, the paintings still tell a story about precious unexpected moments.
