Fun Flower Study Makes Small Original Painting

Study of Dahlia? Flower, 4 x 6 inches, acrylics on paper, $28

Lately, my thoughts are scattered, fractured, jumpy. Even techno music isn't helping me!

I want to be in my art studio, but I don't really want to work on anything "major."

The solution? A bunch of fake silky lovely fun flowers purchased at IKEA.

Remember, Simon cat loves to eat plants, and I have allergies, so fake flowers are perfect!

Is this a dahlia? The tags on all of the flowers read the same, even the sunflower, LOL.

A couple of studies a day, polish the next night...and on some "extra paint" backgrounds these are proving to be the antidote for my fracturing, scattered, distracted mind.

Love it? Please let me know what kind of flower this is. I'll marker up the tag on it so I will always remember.

Cat with Daisies Day 15 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Cat with Daisies, ~5 x 6.5 inches, acrylics on paper, ©2014
Angeline Marie, $28

Halfway through the month!!!!!

Are you tired my paintings, yet?

Because I don't have a theme other than to have fun, ideas keep zinging through my day dreams.

Cathy B. asked why I don't draw or paint daisies more often. Here's one for you with some more in the works. She is right: daisies are silly, fun, and refreshingly unpretentious.

Flower Bouquet - Hot Off the Easel

Flower Bouquet ©2011 Angeline Marie - encaustic techniques 12x12 in. $275

On a Key West sunny day during the encaustic workshop, this showed up on the wood panel while playing.

Rhythm of this painting went like this:
melt
brush on
heat
melt
brush on
heat
melt
stencil
brush on
melt
carve
heat
brush on
heat
stencil
brush on
carve.

Poor encaustic painting of flowers, sitting in my studio since January, but something was still needed. A dash of startling white on the vase...and now finished.

Sometimes, it seems that a painting is never finished until that one "AAAAAH HAAAA!" moment. In two minutes, the painting is finished. Other times, the painting is finished a few hours - the brain dump occurrence after thinking about something all week long.

You are Invited!
