This small mixed media began with every intention of becoming an encaustic painting...but instead fabric, modeling paste, paint, and bleach were all used. After playing with it, this is how it decided to stop. It is a whimsy. If you can think of a better title, please share.
Palm Flower - 2010 - acrylics on paper - 10.5 x 16 inches ©Angeline |
This painting began double the size. Another artist critiqued it with the comment that it was a throw back to when I didn't know how to paint. This was relegated to the back of the studio closet for almost two years. When I dragged it out, it truly was interesting and beautiful, but not the entire painting. Final result after tearing the sheet works for me. How about you?

A-M: Palm Flower works for me. The colors are especially vibrant. As for the first one, I immediately thought Parameters. I know it might only be in my head, but the flowers appear to me to run the gamut of life. I see earth and water. I see the full color spectrum. I see diversity in the roots, and a lot more. Don't mind me. My mind wanders when I view art, which is why I enjoy it so much.
JJ: That is a great title!!! Parameters...So far, you are naming everything, LOL. I don't mind at all! =)
The Palm Flower just makes me say WOW!
