Summer Coming with Cocuyos

Cocuyos with a Machine ©2012 Angeline Marie
origami, watercolors, markers, 10 x 8 inches.

Cocuyos is a Spanish word for firefly, or glowfly.

First time I ever saw their glowing green eyes and slick black bodies was in Kendall, Florida. Don't remember them in North Miami Beach.

I hope our new home has them. We will soon learn if we do during this slowly arriving spring and summer!

This sketch Cocuyos with a Machine is just a fancy whimsical combination of a window view and a small origami cricket. Not the same insect, not the right colors, but definitely some fun.

What does your imagination invent: color? stories? memories? How do you catch your firefly cocuyo thoughts?

Smiles!!!!
