This weekend, we spent in Key West. We love to spend our time at an little inn called Cypress House. The people that work here (Stephen, Dennis, Chris, their boss Dave), the cozy, comfy rooms, and the breakfast and happy hour menus help make this a dreamy place just off Duval Street. We drove down for the Southernmost Air Spectacular this time, and Andy quickly convinced me to make it another adventure.
The air show was fantastic. The Pirated Skies, Tim Weber and all of the performers did a beautiful job displaying flying tricks. The military flight groups just gave a huge boost in pride for being a US Citizen, with the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron Blue Angels, Strike Fighter Squadron Gladiators, the Screaming Eagles, etc. performing aerial gymnastics. The flying was so much more than I expected, that all my time was spent looking up into the sky and almost wishing I could do that, too.
The weather was sunny and hot, the sky a gorgeous blue. Too hot to sketch, so instead I just played with my little point and shoot camera. Will I even paint or draw these magnificent planes? Who knows? Sometimes, you have to enjoy the experience.
