An Honor to Paint Whimsies

Every once in a while, life surprises. An acquaintance and Facebook friend asked me to paint some rocks with designs and inspirational words. The idea is to keep the stones at "visiting points" around home and work to "stumble upon" them while going through normal chores.

Taking into consideration the shape of each stone and the words chosen, here are the "whimsies:"

Maybe the next trip to the hardware store, I will get some stones (no puns intended) and place them around to cause a smile!

What words and colors would you choose on your "whimsies?"

My first choices would be deep tones of red and blue or my new favorite color of burnt orange. This is a good concept and we all have days where we would benefit from stumbling upon one of these. Question: Do you coat these with something after you get through painting or does the paint hold up pretty well? Did you prep the rocks before painting? I am not a painting artist so I am sorry for the basic questions but I find this fascinating.
