March is Vincent Van Gogh's birthday month.
This is my March themed painting, Channeling Van Gogh.
This is my March themed painting, Channeling Van Gogh.
This painting was begun with studying Van Gogh's colors: rich reds, blues, greens, all bright pure colors. After studying, I wrote up some notes (bottom photo) and design. The canvas board was covered with a thick layer of modeling paste for texture.
The most difficult part of the paint was trying to layer the colors like Van Gogh did. He ran the cool and warm colors together and transitioned colors like the master he was.
All in all, how did I do, trying to channel my inner Van Gogh into this painting?
