Carnival Palm Tree, 8x8 inches, acrylics on canvasboard, 2015, $100 |
This is one of the three paintings I finished THIS month!
I am learning how to think abstractly, which is very different than thinking realistically or even impressionistically.
This was a fun painting to make using sketches and crayons to plan it. It doesn't look very much like my crayon sketch, but that just means I have ideas for more paintings, LOL!
This painting began with a simple shape drawing of a palm tree. From there, added and altered lines and then colors. The process is very different than I learned last year through the MoMA Collage class and cubism.
Do you see the palm tree? If not, do you at least like this Carnival?
Smiles!!!!

I do see the palm (the trunk caught my eye), and I love the MoMA site. I use it in my college classes and the students love it. I also love abstract art, Picasso, and Dali. You are doing so much these days! I will have to explore all your sites. Great stuff! Thanks for dropping by my blog.
