Sketch and Red Wallace Fountains in Paris France

ParisDailyPhoto: Red Wallace Fountain: 'via Blog this'

I could NOT resist re-posting this photo link! Please jump over to her page.

While in Paris, France, these fountains are installed on many a street corner. They are usually a dark green leaf color. There is a steady stream of water flowing in the middle of the women. As these fountains were found, my water bottle and water pen were filled.

Sweet, clear, great tasting water available for free. What a great idea! Thanks to Eric Tenin, now I know the name of these fountains!

Here is a photo of my own, of a Wallace Fountain in the typical green.

Here is a sketch from my trip, just to share part of what I miss of Paris. The pain is eased by our new home that feels very much like a tropical Paris.

Space Invader Take Over Paris Part 1

Getting lost is an adventure in Paris. After a week, I believe it will happen less. I do not know the artist of these digital mosaic characters, but I love them when they appear. Consider them my good luck charms. Here are the ones found so far, and a toast of wine to finding more!

P.S. To those in the U.S.A....Remember, yet forgive....

You are invited to share more art at my exhibit  Once Drove Through Florida on at the Children's Gallery and Art Center that runs through September 21st, 2011.

Interested in original art from Paris? Check out my Send Paris to You Project!

Random Photos from Art Basel 2010

Dafne and I enjoyed the Art Basel exhibit at the Miami Beach Convention Center yesterday. After four hours, both of us were tired and exhilarated.

Cameras are not allowed into the exhibit hall, but like most people I did not want to lose my camera to the "coat check" room. These photos were legitimately taken because I asked each gallery if it was OK to photograph the particular piece of art. Most of them answered with a very surprised, "Yes, THANK YOU for asking first! Not everyone asks, and it was wonderful that you did not sneak it!" Needless to say, between the crowd and the fear of losing my camera, these were the only photos taken.

If you want a catalog of the show, you can find it here: Art Basel catalog.

If you want more information about Art Basel in general, although it ends in a few minutes today: Art Basel Miami.

If you want to see more about the Art Basel exhibit and the multitude of satellite shows in Miami during the same time frame, please check out Joanne Mattera's blog. Joanne does a wonderful job reviewing different art shows around the country. She has her weekend's itenary posted on there, too, as a teaser of her upcoming art exhibit reviews. My plan was to visit the Art Basel exhibit and then go live vicariously and car-traffic-free through her posts.

For an idea of the craziness surrounding Art Basel, here is a partial screen shot of the Google Map for searching "Art Basel." To all those artists that participated in different exhibits, forgive me for being overwhelmed and not being able to visit! Please posts photos and/or videos of your exhibit.

Periscope - Art Installation!

A couple of months ago, my friends Pam & Dave had work done in their front yard involving the new sewage system. They posted on Facebook their lovely new glaring white vent pipe with the question of what to do with it. The best idea came from Tim: make it a periscope! Well, now, who can do that for us? This was a fun project! I never thought I would be doing installation art! The ribs for lunch were SCRUMPTIOUS, too!

Before & after photos:

If you are wondering if the submarine buried in the front yard is seen - the periscope is an amazing camoflage.

Smiles!
