Day 15 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

More NewFi Flowers, 5 x 3 inches,
acrylics on paper, $28
This one was hard. Thought of painting over it and doing something else.

This is not my favorite. I kept adding paint, colors, values...and quit tonight.

I don't have to love everything painting or drawing or design I make. I am allowed to hate it.

There are other paintings on my easel that make me happier....I return to those paintings.

Every happily quit a self-given project? Why?

Angeline Marie of

Day 14 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Gros Morne's Western Brook Pond #1, 3x5 inches,
mixed media on paper, $28

A small study for today, just to enter the weekend. Andy, my husband, was dreaming for months of seeing Park Canada's Gros Morne.

Like all that want to visit the Western Brook Pond in Gros Morne Park Canada, New Foundland, we walked for over a mile and half.

We then boarded a boat with about 50 other people. Cameras competed and were splashed. People jostled. Me? I began joining all the ooos and ahhhs, took a few snapshots, and drew and colored in my sketchbook. I decided Andy and Tim could take the photos for me.

Today, after a long tiring week, have only this little "study" to show. I promise that tomorrow I WILL GET INTO MY STUDIO. Right now, our Florida weather is still hot and the pool is calling.

Anything calling out to you on this day?

To artists in Colorado: wishing you safety and love.

Smiles,
Angeline Marie of

Day 13 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

November Colors Palm Tree, 6 x 6 inches, mixed media on paper, $28

This is a stencil? A print? Not sure how to describe this, other than it fits my Absence of Green palm tree series.

This month, this challenge is supposed to be about New Foundland. Other than the thought that I had while riding behind my husband on his motorcycle, consider this still meeting the intent of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days... just because it was done this month, LOL.

The ocean is spectacular in New Foundland. It is stunning with its steel blues, colorful rocky shores, periwinkles, and fascinating trees. The ocean seemed sad to me...no beach umbrellas, no sandy towels, no palm trees.

If I ever visit New Foundland again, the beach chair in a truck shall go with me so I can paint by their seaside. I do agree that the water is too cold for swimming...and I did miss the palm trees while enjoying what my husband Andy and I began calling Newfie Trees

Day 12 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Forest of New Foundland Trees, 3 x 5 inches,
mixed media on paper, $28
Am loving these trees. Distraction from those bright pink-red flowers. More of those flowers are in the works...but for now, the tree line as we saw it from the road while riding the motorcycle.

Day 11 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Along the Ocean-like Ponds, 3 x 5 inches, acrylics on paper, $28
This little mountain scene is done for the evening.

Am still practicing being out of my comfort zone by painting more of those fuchsia flowers. Just am not quite ready to share the last one that I keep noodling. Tomorrow.

For today, the subdued colors fit the mood.

Angeline Marie of

Day 10 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Fuschia Along the Road, 5 x 3 inches,
mixed media on paper, $28
It's Day 10...and day 2 of these flowers.
Am so out of my comfort zone with these flowers. My inner critic says things like yeah, right, you are going to paint these flowers? You are crazy, not good enough, not enough practice....Yet this voice is usually in my head. I hate her. She can't screech at me when the music blasts in my studio...thankfully.

How do you turn off your inner critic?

Smiles,
Angeline Marie of

Day 9 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Bright Magentas, 3 x 5 inches, acrylics on paper, $28

Special thank you to Tim J., with Elisa, who went on our New Foundland, Canada adventure with us.

This is a small painting based on one of Tim's photographs. He sent us a few teasers for when we get together and exchange photos. Can't wait!

What is in your near future that makes you smile?

Day 8 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Periwinkle Study, acrylics & ink on canvas paper, 6 x 6 inches, $35

Same periwinkle, another mixed media piece. This one is done with acrylics and ink.

The colors of the seashells from New Foundland, Canada are intriguing. The blacks look like dark blues. Expect a few more periwinkles this month!

Day 7 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Newfie Trees Along Some Roads, acrylics on paper, 3x5 inches, $28
The trees in New Foundland are AMAZING. Depending on where you are, the trees can be straggly and strong or leafy green happy. These trees were inspired by the ones found along the coast of Western Brook Pond in Gros Morne.

Smiles,
Angeline Marie of

Day 6 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

New Foundland has amazingly lonely gorgeous beaches. As is my habit, I love collecting seashells and rocks. This is one tiny shell out of my treasure box. The treasure box was for Day 1.

Day 4 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

My husband and I spent a few days in the rain while on his BMW GSA 1200 motorcycle. The views in New Foundland are gorgeously mystically mysterious. The trees thrilled me with how sparse.

Hope you are enjoying my trip back to New Foundland as much as I am!

Day 3 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge

So I cheated a little bit...but all part of the rules....Made the palm tree stamp designs above: the negative green foam is the original, and added it's pieces to the pink foam.

How did I cheat? The little painting below, inspired by New Foundland, was actually finished yesterday.

Hasta maƱana, everyone.
